I have been painting for a very long time, but have no formal art qualifications and am a completely self taught artist.  I believe that having to figure everything out myself has helped me to develop my own individual style.  I have a deep affection, love and respect for all  animals and a love of painting, so combining the two was a nat

I have been painting for a very long time, but have no formal art qualifications and am a completely self taught artist.  I believe that having to figure everything out myself has helped me to develop my own individual style.  I have a deep affection, love and respect for all  animals and a love of painting, so combining the two was a natural progression.  Animals have such soul and depth and I try to capture that in my painting.  

 The pet portraits are painted using high quality acrylics on Claybord which has a hard, smooth surface and is ideal for fine, intricate details.  

 For something a little different, I also paint portraits on river rocks.  The rocks I use are Nambucca River Rocks which I purchase from a  landscape supplier.

    

Both the traditional portraits and rock portraits are painted from your photos so it is important to have a clear, close up shot of your pet.  Check out my photo tips for a few
